For candidates applying for positions within Kingscott Dix, we are looking for a number of qualities:

  • A strong work ethic and commitment to provision of high service levels to client;
  • An aptitude for problem solving with an inherent strength in numeracy.
  • A high standard of communication at all levels within the office and client environments including with management;
  • An ability to integrate and function effectively within the office team and contribute positively to the office environment;
  • A high level of computer literacy with hands-on experience of in-house software such as IRIS, Microsoft Office, and client packages such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks;
  • Time management capability including organisation and prioritisation of own time, working to budgets and within deadlines;
  • (Depending on level) an ability to supervise the junior team and assist with training and review of team members.

  1. Apprentice – Gloucester Office

We are recruiting to fill an apprenticeship position. The candidate will be looking to undertake Level 4 training (perhaps AAT or ICAEW CFAB) looking to progress to Professional Level 7 for ACA or ACCA qualifications. A full training package is provided as an integral part of this position.

The Role

The apprentice will receive college-based tuition (day or block release) alongside their practical working experience based in the audit and accounts department. The initial part of the training will provide a strong grounding in bookkeeping including operation of packages including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks, followed by full accounts preparation and audit procedures. Progression continues with basic Income and Corporation tax with opportunities for specialist work projects in management accounts, cash flows and other projections, business acquisition / sale work.

Qualifications

Ideally the candidate will be a graduate (relevant or non- relevant degree) but we will consider A level school leavers who demonstrate a clear career path focus.

Market rate dependent on experience
